1. Location: Events must be held in Tyler, TX or Smith County
2. Accessibility: All events must be open to the general public, not just organization members or pass holders.
3. Event Type: The calendar is dedicated to events only. Acceptable events include:
- Festivals
- Art Galleries/Openings
- Holiday Events
- Cultural and heritage events
- Sporting events
- Community, professional, and college/university-level performances
4. Online Presence: Events must appear on the organization's website or Facebook page before submission. Please provide the URL to the event listing.
5. Specific Date/Time: Events must have a specific date and time.
6. Recurring Events: All recurring entries must have an end date. If you do not enter an end date, one will be added during the approval process.
All recurring events must end in the current calendar year. If your event extends beyond that date, you can submit a second listing with a beginning and end date in the new year.
7. Complete Form: The entire submission form should be filled out, including event descriptions and contact information.
8. Exclusions: The following will not be considered for the Event Calendar:
- Auditions
- K-8 school performances
- Church services
- Political fundraisers
Note: Exceptions to these guidelines may be made at the discretion of the Visit Tyler staff.
Additional Information:
- Events listed on the calendar may be mentioned on VisitTyler's social channels, but this is not guaranteed. When submitting your event, include images with this in mind. Horizontal, square, and pictures without text overlay work best.
- Events are not automatically added to the calendar once you click "submit" at the bottom of the form. Events first go through an approval process to verify that they contain all necessary information and meet the above criteria.
