VISIT TYLER AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

(Please read ALL of the very important info below BEFORE you apply)

TO: ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

RE: ROSE CITY AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

WHAT IS IT: There will be at least 4 opportunities throughout the year that will give students a chance to greet visitors and answer questions, etc., earning community service hours, gaining knowledge about our city, and growing their communication skills. The events/opportunities for volunteering will begin with the Azalea & Spring Flower Trail in March/April and then continue with the Texas Rose Festival in October, Azalea District Trail of Lights in December and helping out at the Downtown Tyler Visitor Center various times throughout the year. Other opportunities that arise during the year will also give students a chance to volunteer as a Rose City Ambassador and earn additional community service hours.

WHO CAN APPLY:All High School students (girls & boys) in Smith County or Home School students who can be available for the specified events mentioned, above, and would enjoy working with visitors to Tyler. You must be academically eligible because there could possibly be some events held during school hours.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Visit Tyler will purchase a Visit Tyler logo polo shirt to be worn with Black slacks (the slacks will be the responsibility of the student to provide), along with a sash that says ‘Rose City Ambassador’, so that people will easily see that these students are available to answer questions about all things Tyler. The most intensive time that will be needed for the Ambassadors to work will be during the Azalea & Spring Flower Trail. The 2025 Festival is scheduled for March 21–April 6. The only cost to be an Ambassador is $75 to cover the cost of the shirt and fleece logo jacket (this cost will only be for new Ambassadors who haven’t yet served).

WHAT TO DO: Complete the attached application. You may complete it and bring by or mail it to Visit Tyler at the address below, or email to stravis@tylertexas.com, no later than 5pm, Friday, January 17th. No late applications will be accepted!
