New Rose Complex Will Provide Convention-Goers With a Rosy Experience

By Livability

Flourishing with delicious cuisine, a calendar full of events, breathtaking roses and lodging for all tastes and budgets, Tyler is becoming a tourism destination. Its appeal is only expected to grow with the addition of the Rose Complex, a convention campus made up of the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center, which is replacing Harvey Convention Center; a revitalized Mayfair Building, which has hosted many events and concerts throughout the years; the Rose Garden Center, which includes a variety of meeting rooms; the East Texas State Fairgrounds; a football and baseball field; and indoor and outdoor venue space.

“It’s amazing that three big names like that all came from this area,” says Cindy Smoak, executive director of SPORTyler and the annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award. “A lot of visitors come here just because of that.”
