Mike Carter Field is home to the Tyler Junior College (TJC) Apache Baseball Team and serves as a venue for various community events and high school baseball games. The field features a well-maintained grass surface, bleacher seating for spectators, and a press box for media coverage. Built in 1938 under the Work Progress Administration Project…renovated in 1948 due to a fire and in 1991 with formation of the Tyler Baseball Commission…TJC baseball began practicing and playing at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Mike Carter Field with the rejuvenation of the program in 1992…Tyler Independent School District bought the facility from the City of Tyler in 1998…host facility for high school baseball exhibition and playoff games coordinated through Tyler ISD Athletics…host facility for NJCAA Regional, District, and National Tournaments.
